Three leaf types of Thaumatococcus daniellii are known to collectors and local users alike. These leaf forms are demarcated based on the leaf size, texture and usage. Type A - (Local name: Ewe eyiba/Ewe eran - Yoruba): Medium sized, ovoid shaped leaf, with distinct glossy, dark green coloured and stretched-tight (firm) lamina.
