Characterization of Anti-Cancer Compounds from Nigerian Plants
Goals/Objectives of Project
- Screen selected plant extracts for cytotoxicity;
- Evaluate the anti-proliferative effect of the crude plant extracts against breast and prostate cancer cells;
- Identify, isolate and characterize bioactive constituents of the crude plant extracts that exhibit cytotoxicity; and
- Study the effect of plant extracts on gene expression levels of breast and prostate cancer cells.
