Assessment of Dose Reference Levels for common radio-Diagnostic procedures in South West Nigeria

Goals/Objectives of Project

• Assess quality control compliance to radiography, mammography, fluoroscopy, and angiography and computed tomography (CT) imagining services at selected hospital in South West Nigeria.
• Determine the Patient Skin entrance dose (PSED) due to radiography, mammography, fluoroscopy, angiography and computed tomography (CT) using thermo-luminescent dosimeter (TLD) chips and diode detectors in the selected hospitals.
• Develop indigenous standard dose Reference Dose Level (DRL) and compare the results with the adopted International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) standards.
